New Annual Review: Research and Innovation That Make a Difference

The Promobilia Foundation’s Annual Review 2025 is now available. In it, we highlight some of the researchers, projects and initiatives we have had the privilege of supporting during the year – all with the shared goal of contributing to a more active and independent life for people with disabilities.
In this year’s edition, you can meet, among others, Professor Danica Kragic, whose research explores how humanoid robots could help and support people in their everyday lives in the future. You can also read about new approaches in Parkinson’s research, the development of modern bone conduction hearing devices, and how wheelchair tennis can promote the joy of movement, a sense of community and greater independence.
2025 was also an anniversary year. The Foundation’s founder, Per Uddén, would have turned 100, an occasion marked by a centenary celebration at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His conviction that technology and innovation can enable greater independence and participation continues to shape Promobilia’s work today.
During 2025, Promobilia awarded nearly SEK 73 million in project grants, research fellowships, strategic initiatives and other grants. In the Annual Review, we share more about what this support makes possible and about our ambition to ensure that research and innovation not only generate new knowledge, but also translate into tangible benefits in people’s everyday lives.
